We are excited to welcome our newest artist – Matthew Brown of Lyme, NH. Matt Brown is one of America’s most accomplished and inspired artists working in the traditional Japanese hanga technique of woodcut printing, using water-based ink and printing with a hand-held baren. The resulting images are dramatic, lyrical, and painterly, delighting viewers who are sometimes surprised they’re really woodcut prints.

There will be an opening reception on Friday, July 15 featuring Brown’s prints of Maine and New Hampshire, along with Maine artists Siri Beckman, Kris Sader, Brian Keegstra, David Morgan, and Mary Ann McKellar, as well as Angie Coleman from Taos, New Mexico and Jean Williamson from Caernarfon, Wales. As part of Bath's Art Walk, we hope you'll climb the stairs and enjoy this beautiful showing.
